Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew as a child in Mexico in a family who loved music. Growing up, she listened to lots of traditional music as well as old Boleros. In addition, she was a fan of traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana enjoys tangos operas and other theatrical performances. Ana started learning how to sing and play music from an early age, along alongside her mother. She received more formal vocal training when she reached the age of 16 old with the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. In Guadalajara she studied at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara before moving on to Toluca in Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was part of a variety of opera ensembles as well as chamber groups. When she moved to the United States in 2000, she sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before making the move to her current residence in the southern part of California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer with classical Latin American music at private performances. Her passion for singing, music as well as the arts keeps active in community projects both as an artist and teacher. Ana was also a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor in The Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able to be able to share her love for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes this can encourage younger generations to preserve the traditions.
